Global warming on trial
quote:
Sixth-graders decide that humans aren’t to blame

quote:
Seven of 11 jurors decided humans are not to blame, but everyone agreed classroom debates make for fun learning

also interesting in the article is this:
quote:
“You don’t understand someone’s position until you can argue it to their satisfaction,” Poppe said, quoting a famous physicist. “I don’t believe in Darwinism either, but I can argue it as well as any Darwinist.”

We should try that sometime.

Loganthor,

I think you are taking this "are you smarter the a fifth grader" stuff a little too far!

Maybe shy

I looked, I cant find a single one on any Big Oil payroll or Enviromental Think Tank. They may be the most unbias people on the planet.

You wont find any Aborigines there either...

but that doesn't mean we should look to them for decisions.

Bill, Bill, Bill.
Uniformed is not the same as unbiased.
Too lazy to look up that fallacy.

Bill I do not think I can get behind such a bold statement like that. I do not see race in people only politics. laugh

Why not? The ultimate naturalist, extremely adaptive people. I bet if you asked them about global warming they would just look at you. You ask them what they plan on doing about global warming, they tell move somewhere cooler. Brilliant people aborigines

Considering the ones in the wild are still in the stoneage, I was wondering by what scale you measure brilliance, then I thought of this man...

and alas you have a point.

Cheap shot across from the cheap seats...

quote:
Considering the ones in the wild are still in the stoneage,

Can you live or even function without "basic" nessesities anymore. Car, Cell Phone, Credit Cards, Burger King, etc etc. Do you think that aborigines would have the same difficulies that say New Oreleans people have had. How many aborigines do you think are on provac and Viagra, have memberships to gyms, have theropist and rat like dogs they carry everywhere because they lack any semblance of self estem. How many aborigines do you think shoot themselves in the head or jump from tall building because the rat race finally caught up to them.

Kind of make one ponder who the smart ones are.

I have to straighten you out on this remark. Those small dogs that old ladies carry everywhere are their companions. There have been studies that prove people with pets vs those without, live longer happier lives. Self-esteem has nothing to do with it.
