It's because if you look at Al Gore's map of the world as the oceans rise, you will notice one thing about the USA.... Most of the areas with liberals and progressives will be flooded. Global Warming is a perfect way to permanently get rid of half of the GOP political opponents in the USA. This is why Bush sat back and laughed as New Orleans was dying.

i actually think it has more to do with the all mighty dollar. when clinton was in office, there were huge strides made in enviormental protections along with alot of land set aside for national parks and wildlife refuges. all of that is going down the drain as the bush administration has laxed the laws and regulations pretaining to emissions and toxic dumping. i also find it disturbing and saddening that he will not embrace the kyoto protocall. his reasoning: it will cost the industries too much $$ to conform to the agreement and will cost american jobs. the only jobs that will be lost are ones from possible major polluters. of course this is all contrary to what bush proposed and stated he would do during his election campaign against a true protector of the enviornment, al gore.
