"After He died for me, I sinned. I was ungrateful for His love. My sin pierced His Heart with the coldness of my egoism and the hardness of my impenitence. I became the spear of the soldier piercing the Heart of the Redeemer. I drew the last drop of Blood from His Sacred Body."

There's this whole religion created around a man called Jesus. We sing his praises We pray to him. We beseech him like the Big Santa Claus in the Sky who will reward us when we're good and punish us when we're not. If we believe in HIM (whatever that means) we shall earn life eternal, YET No one follows his teachings! and we keep killing each other often in HIS name!
So it is the sole idolatry of his body that this religion centers on and the absurd notion that God requires the barbaric death of one of his own to atone for the rest. Such a father is not deserving of our love, but only our contempt. Jesus died because he was a seditionist He taught a message of LOVE, while all we see and revere is his barbaric death and the duality that presumes we are seperate from him and each other.
No one can die to set another free. That much I learned After having worked on a misson post teaching others that MY God was better than THEIR God. There was great arrogance in that ignorance Amazing that the two so often go together.

There is only one God; the rest are only gods and goddesses, so they say.
How perfectly, perfectly sad you do not see the amazing Love of He who died for you.
How perfectly sad you do not see how our laws are actually rooted in the significance of the Cross and not "survival of the fittest" as many want to revert towards, calling it progressive.

If we followed His teachings, we wouldn't be in Iraq in the first place. We wouldn't have a society that promotes greed over people. This country is about as far from "Christianity" as a country can get. It's been turned in upon itself.
What passes as "Christianity" is an abomination and has been an abomination for 1,900 years.

The explicit significance of the Cross tells us that we are to take Jesus as an example. Christ suffered for us. When He was reviled, He did not revile. When he suffered, he did not threaten but gave Himself up to him who judged unjustly. Prophecy was fulfill. God's will was completed for redemption of the world.
Jesus never harmed another. Are we not to do the same? "Who ever sheds the blood of man by man his blood shall be shed." Thou shall not intentionally murder.

Then GG, stop calling for the shedding of Middle East blood. Stop supporting intentionally murdering.

Quite right...how sad and how arrogant that WE presume to have the right religion and proselytize and preach and tell others just how to live by what is good and what is bad, obviously OUR God WAS better than theirs, why else go into foreign lands and evangelize?

The Cross my dear GG has NOTHING to do with us. NOTHING. It portrays great violence and is the reason we've been killing each other for centuries. As a former missionary I can tell you after extensive biblical study that very little of it is real or true, and that of the numerous copies exsisting of the SAME Biblical book and verse, ALL differ. So why I should believe in some books, NONE of which are original, ALL copies of copies, and all contradicting one another, beats me. Instead I suggest you might go within where Jesus says the Kingdom of God is, rather than preach and proselytize to those who believe different than you do.

I'll try this, it came on my wife's e-mail [QUOTEAt the end of this story, it gives you two options. I think you will figure out what option I chose.
A cold March wind danced around the dead of night in Dallas as the doctor walked into the small hospital room of Diana Blessing. She was still groggy from surgery.
Her husband, David, held her hand as they braced themselves for the latest news. That afternoon of March 10, 1991, complications had forced Diana, only 24-weeks pregnant, to undergo an emergency Cesarean to deliver couple's new daughter, Dana Lu Blessing.
At 12 inches long and weighing only one pound nine ounces, they already knew she was perilously premature.
Still, the doctor's soft words dropped like bombs.
'I don't think she's going to make it,' he said, as kindly as he could.
'There's only a 10-percent chance she will live through the night, and even then, if by some slim chance she does make it, her future could be a [/QUOTE]
quote:
'There's only a 10-percent chance she will live through the night, and even then, if by some slim chance she does make it, her future could be a very cruel one'
Numb with disbelief, David and Diana listened as the doctor described the devastating problems Dana would likely face if she survived.
She would never walk, she would never talk, she would probably be blind, and she would certainly be prone to other catastrophic conditions from cerebral palsy to complete mental retardation, and on and on.
quote:
'No! No!' was all Diana could say.
She and David, with their 5-year-old son Dustin, had long dreamed of the day they would have a daughter to become a family of four.
Now, within a matter of hours, that dream was slipping away
But as those first days passed, a new agony set in for David and Diana. Because Dana's underdeveloped nervous system was essentially 'raw', the lightest kiss or caress only intensified her discomfort, so they couldn't even cradle their tiny baby girl against their chests to offer the strength of their love.
All they could do, as Dana struggled alone beneath the ultraviolet light in the tangle of tubes and wires, was to pray that God would stay close to their precious little girl.
There was never a moment when Dana suddenly grew stronger.
But as the weeks went by, she did slowly gain an ounce of weight here and an ounce of strength there.
At last, when Dana turned two months old. her parents were able to hold her in their arms for the very first time.
And two months later, though doctors continued to gently but grimly warn that her chances of surviving, much less living any kind of normal life, were next to zero, Dana went home from the hospital, just as her mother had predicted.
Five years later, when Dana was a petite but feisty young girl with glittering gray eyes and an unquenchable zest for life.
She showed no signs whatsoever of any mental or physical impairment. Simply, she was everything a little girl can be and more. But that happy ending is far from the end of her story.
One blistering afternoon in the summer of 1996 near her home in Irving, Texas, Dana was sitting in her mother's lap in the bleachers of a local ball park where her brother Dustin's baseball team was practicing.
As always, Dana was chattering nonstop with her mother and several other adults sitting nearby when she suddenly fell silent.. Hugging her arms across her chest, little Dana asked, 'Do you smell that?'
Smelling the air and detecting the approach of a thunderstorm, Diana replied, 'Yes, it smells like rain.'
Dana closed her eyes and again asked, 'Do you smell that?'
there were a lot of other pictures then it went this way
quote:
Once again, her mother replied, 'Yes, I think we're about to get wet. It smells like rain.'
Still caught in the moment, Dana shook her head, patted her thin shoulders with her small hands and loudly announced, 'No, it smells like Him.
It smells like God when you lay your head on His chest.'
Tears blurred Diana's eyes as Dana happily hopped down to play with the other children.
Before the rains came, her daughter's words confirmed what Diana and all the members of the extended Blessing family had known, at least in their hearts, all along.
During those long days and nights of her first two months of her life, when her nerves were too sensitive for them to touch her, God was holding Dana on His chest and it is His loving scent that she remembers so well.
You now have 1 of 2 choices. You can either pass this on and let other people catch the chills like you did or you can delete this and act like it didn't touch your heart like it did mine.
IT'S YOUR CALL!
as I said it's really kind of a chain letter
quote:
'I can do all things in Him who strengthens me.'
This morning when the Lord opened a window to Heaven, He saw me, and He asked: 'My child, what is your greatest wish for today?' I responded: 'Lord please, take care of the person who is reading this message, their family and their special friends. They deserve it and I love them very much' The love of God is like the ocean, you can see its beginning, but not its end.

Since when is it 'christian' to turn your back on those that are suffering under a brutal dictator. The real problem is that if we pipe a funeral tune you will not mourn, and if we pipe a jubilee tune you will not rejoice. If we are in a foreign land to rescue the abused, we are not christian. If we hide our heads in the sand, we are not christian. Hung if we do, hung if we don't.

Well, take a look at just who supported and helped install a lot of these dictatorships. We tend to build our own gallows.

There comes a time...when you understand and 'checkmate' your opponent! This personae "GG" is simply afraid to be useful to (her) Lord, and, to the extent that this poor, tortured person doesn't want her location divulged, her maturity seems to be on hold. (Good on you, Adler!) Sadly, I feel this person is ripe for intensive Freudian psychotherapy-you know-poops, lips, and whoops!
There comes a time when we hear a certain call When the world must come together as one There are people dying and its time to lend a hand to life There greatest gift of all
We cant go on pretending day by day That someone, somewhere will soon make a change We are all a part of Gods great big family And the truth, you know, Love is all we need
[Chorus:] We are the world, we are the children We are the ones who make a brighter day So lets start giving Theres a choice we're making We're saving our own lives its true we'll make a better day Just you and me
Send them your heart so they'll know that someone cares And their lives will be stronger and free As God has shown us by turning stones to bread So we all must lend a helping hand
[Chorus:] We are the world, we are the children We are the ones who make a brighter day So lets start giving Theres a choice we're making We're saving our own lives its true we'll make a better day Just you and me
When you're down and out, there seems no hope at all But if you just believe theres no way we can fall Let us realize that a change can only come When we stand together as one
[Chorus:] We are the world, we are the children We are the ones who make a brighter day So lets start giving Theres a choice we're making We're saving our own lives its true we'll make a better day Just you and me
