Think of Mary, Mother of Jesus, going about her work at her home, and finding out her son is arrested. Maybe she didn’t hear he was arrested. Maybe she found out the authorities are torturing Him. However she finds out, Blessed Mother arrives at the Cross. Surely Mary knew about her son’s life and work, and His miracles, but do you believe this knowledge made it any easier to watch her son’s blood dripping down the wood of the cross, and hear Him sighing, while some onlookers heckled Him, and others were defending Him. This was a horrendous nightmare for Mary. She surely remembered giving Him birth, grooming Him, and watching Him grow in the loving presence of her and Joseph. She probably was all sweaty, emotionally drained, and full of anxiety just running up the hillside to the Cross. If she got near the cross and hugged it she most certainly was covered with blood. I am sure some of the hecklers mocked her. Reflecting on this suffering of Mary’s at this moment in her life should put in perspective our own suffering when we try to do good, or suffer the pain of quitting a bad habit. Have you ever gotten so angry you just wanted to explode, and have your body and blood cover the people angering you. I am sure Jesus was as a man, angry knowing what would happen to Him and Mary at the Cross. Remember Jesus was angry as a man, but as God he made it so that only those who were truly sorry for what happened to Him, and Mary at the Cross will have His body and blood not on them but in them, and by this they will receive Him and His grace to be saved. Jesus turned His anger into everlasting love. It is important to remember Jesus knew as God, the churche he established would be mocked, suffer scandal, and other difficult times, and would even splinter. As God with an infinite view He also knew it would prevail, and even seen you praying to Him. Linking to the Devine side of God is so important before undertaking our daily live. The Eucharist is a direct link to God’s divinity. It is available to all, if they accept His church, are truly sorry for their sins, and vow to sin no more. Although God can distribute his graces as He sees fit, Jesus guaranteed God’s grace to all who properly receive the Eucharist. If you are of a religion which was born as a result of splintering from the Roman Catholic Church, I invite you to try to reunite yourself with Christ’s church to maximize your relationship with God. Remember if not for the Roman Catholic Church established by Christ your church would not have existed. The Lutheran Church would not exist today if not for the Roman Catholic Church. Find out for yourselves why your church leaders are coming back to the Roman Catholic Church. Listen to Relevant radio and hear them! If you are truly bound to Christ you cannot harbor any resentments against His Church. Tradition is fine, but you should seek the truth. God in His infinite mercy can save anyone, but I am sure He relishes His son’s own work. Now I am sure the same people who had the mentality to heckle Jesus will heckle me, but so it is.

I grew up in a 50/50 neighborhood in Detroit. If you stayed with the 50 percent that were good, decent, honest citizens that respected life you were ok and life was great. If you were ever in contact with the 50 percent that wanted nothing more then to abuse, and persecute you life was hell. Once I got mugged by a gang on the street and they dragged me in an alley were they beat on me for a half hour. I thought they were gonna kill me so at one point I wish I could just explode on them. I hope you never have to deal with a situation like this.
