"Hand of Hope." The text explaining the picture begins, "The tiny hand of 21-week-old foetus Samuel Alexander Armas emerges from the mother's uterus to grasp the finger of Dr. Joseph Bruner as if thanking the doctor for the gift of life. "Little Samuel's mother said they "wept for days" when they saw the picture. She said, "The photo reminds us my pregnancy isn't about disability or an illness, it's about a little person. "Now see the actual picture, and it is awesome...incredible. And hey, pass it on. The world needs to see this one!

The "rescuing hug" is true. It's a great story. It's a pity that we lost so much of the human touch as we focused on technology. I hope we continue to rediscover it.
The picture and operation on Samuel are real, but the description is not. It is good to know that such operations can succeed.

Is this fetus, a baby? The photo shows a fetus reaching out of the womb during surgery (inserting a brain shunt). The little boy was 24 weeks gestation when his hand reached for the surgeon's. This is the usual age when babies, fully developed as this boy is, are aborted by partial birth abortion and their body parts sold for stem cell and fetal tissue research. This lucky little boy not only lived but is developing normally after birth thanks to the surgeon and his caring parents. As usual the photo is worth 1000 words.

GG, you might put these kinds of pictures in a separate thread with a warning in the title, or simply link to them with a warning; some people don't like pictures of operations.
I expect the same caveat to this picture applies as for the previous one - the hand would not reach out because of anaesthetic.

"The Sabbath exists for people. The `fatal law' is a synonym for "the world." According to Hinkelammert, obedience to the law is "sin." Those who wanted to stone the woman - the law abiding - committed sin. Abraham was commanded to decide against `God's will' and for the life of his child."
As Hiroshima called us to change our ideas about strength, health and power, liberation theology calls us to a shift in thinking about "law," "sin" and "salvation."
Rhinoceros can talk but they're silent for fear of being dragged to work. Work becomes a corpse but work fetishism and work fanaticism continue (cf. Manifesto against Labor on www.krisis.de)

" Several new cities saw the premier of Bella last weekend ranging from Pittsburgh and Milwaukee to Honolulu and Albuquerque. The movie, which has struck a chord with the pro-life community because of its theme in favor of respecting life, continued to attract a strong audience despite the limited number of theaters showing it.
Over the first few weeks of the film's release, just 186 theaters showed the movie, which gave it the second and third highest per-theater sales figures during late October and early November..."
