I just watched. You are right and wrong. Right in that Clinton and Obama will have a difficult time in the general election. Wrong in the fact that Edwards has the answers to the problems that face the nation. Taking money out of the hands of HNWI only enables the government to waste more money on earmarks. That's what has happened every time there is a spike in revenue no matter how the spike happened. Higher taxes will result in a short term increase in revenue but in the long term decrease the size of the economy, deepening the coming recession.
This living wage business won't happen. It's a slogan, nothing more. Wages are set by the market and what consumers can and will pay for products, not by some arbitrary government mandate.
If government nationalizes health care, it will be the end of the America we know and love. I don't doubt that at some time it will happen. Americans have come to love "free" stuff, even if they don't understand what the cost is.
A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.

I forgot to mention Iraq. Advocation of chaos as the new official American foreign policy for the government in Iraq seems to me to be the stupidest idea I've heard of. That's what we did after Gulf war #1. It earned us the murder and mistrust of thousands of Sunni's in the south. An orderly withdrawal with the support of the new Iraqi government and management of situations on the ground would be a much more reasonable position.

As an Edwards supporter, I agree with your sentiment, however what is up with the woman in her underwear? Is that the only way you think you would get people to pay attention to what she is saying.
We will see what tomorrow brings, but you are correct the Republicans are scared s***less of Edwards, makes you wonder...
"Yeehaw" is not a foreign policy!

It's not underwear; it's a bikini!

I tried that and you're right. One thing though, a little augmentation mammoplasty would be a good career move.

Mel, Edwards talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk. For the love of God, he said he went to work at a Hedge fund to learn about poverty and claimed he could contact dead babies in an attempt to amass a personal fortune which as a side effect created a situation where women are undergoing unnecessary cyzarian deliveries. He talks the environmental talk and lives in an environmental obscenity. Empty suit is kind in my opinion.
Two Americas might be right. One for John Edwards, and one for everybody else.

Just got back from a couple weeks in St. Kitts and I'm a little wired from the travel. You ok with that?

I wouldn't say that. I'm pretty happy and I have lots of friends. That's what really counts.

I'll give you a penny a post but I seem to remember you already owe me for something, so I'll send you a credit memo.
The house was supposed to be done July 30th, It won't be done until next April or May. The developer ran out of money but just got a financial partner that will enable him to finish. There is a daily penalty clause in the contract so if they are late enough, the house is free. If it's free, it's for me.

Mel, try adding to the conversation. I don't know what's going to happen in the next election, especially since Hillary made a come back in NH. I don't think she's electable in the general election. Of coarse I don't think Huckabee is electable either so if they run against each other, maybe the office will be empty for four years.
In any event, I'm not concerned about which party wins what branch of government. Both parties have proven they are incompetant.

We'll all know alot more as the next few months pan out. Who will be the running mates? Who will self destruct? Who will Oprah tell America to vote for?
