All we have in PDX to honor Dr. Marie Equi is the engraving on the side of the maintenance building at the PGE Park MAX stop. There should be a street or park named for her. Or a statue of her.
All you have to do is read the Wiki bio of Equi to know that not only was she one of the greatest Portlanders ever, she was also one of the greatest people ever to live in America.
We have generic, old-time pro-imperialism monuments, such as the one honoring the 2nd Oregon as they participated in the conquest of the Philippines. This is in Chapman Sq. downtown.
Time to move on to a recognition of the better history.
