Why have we, the United States of America, ascribed any evil to the great country of Iraq?

According to Scott Ritter, former U.S. Marine and United States International Weapons Inspector, it is to counter-balance a Neo-Conservative power grab here.

'Business is business' he maintains, and we would endeavor to obtain oil, wherever the price was right.

The encyclopedia company, Britannica.com, also describes the Mesopotamian center of ancient civilization in Iraq, or crossroads of the world, as the fertile ground from which scholars have learned about Sumer, Akkad, Babylon, and Assyria.

By calling an historical good treasure, 'evil', and using it as a standard by which some evil content or value assesses for each and every political statement, Scott Ritter points to the resulting artificial political system, with lies, coverups, industrial collusion, perverted economics, and temporary propping up of an illegal industrial war machine.

In response to Thom's questioning, Ritter says that our quagmire is a Pandora's Box; but that it cannot last, eventually falling to its own market forces.

Iraq, and most of the Middle East have been declared "evil", I believe, due to the very fact that they are the hub of society.
Let's look back as far as we can in our western civilizations. As we journey backward through time we hit a disturbing information gap right around 900 A.D. and anything before that until roughly 70 A.D.. That's right! The Dark Ages! Dark because Rome is gone, very few are literate, and technology is at the stone-age level again. After circa 900 A.D. western society is brimming with information concerning our culture. Why? The Crusades!!

The crusades, while sold as religiously motivated and acceptable genocide, were probably the biggest technology grab since the Estruscans were conquered by the Romans. Our (western) societies found in the Middle East savvy intellectuals, traders, artisans, politicians, and technologies that we still use today. How evil!
