Just finished reading Sebastian Junger's article about MEND and their campaign to oust oil corporations and claim restitution for environment damages and devastation done to indigenous population, etc. What Junger and others are describing is as an aboriginal tribal group, utilizing sophisticated 4GW strategies and operating under the title Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND) ... Im wondering how they came up with this name whose acronysm so conveniently and symbolically manages to reflect through its mission... iou, who is behind the show here? A group of young natives such as these may speak some English but they certainly must be managed and funded by some organization with a keen awareness of the subtelities and power of English ... what with the talk of Nigeria as the next Iraq, the importance of their contribtion to our dependence on fossil fuels, is it possible that this is some type of sabotage? These corporations controlling the market, manipulating the price of oil by supporting these type of insurgencies with the ultimate goal of moving troops in to secure operations ...

Any ideas on this?
