Yeah, folks, you can bet the ranch: we’re going in. I’ve heard all the arguments from the nay sayers, so let that go. We’re going in.
This is déjà vu time, for sure, as we look back on the months before Shock and Awe, when so many of us tried to warn the nation about the coming catastrophe in Iraq. But those of us who shouted went unheard and those of us who marched in protest went unseen. Yet in the end we were right on the mark.
And so, we’ll try again. This time, we’ll set out five easy pieces of a doomsday jigsaw puzzle that easily can be assembled if you take the time to do so. As in any such puzzle, the separate parts might be interesting, but not significant in themselves. But once assembled, the full picture emerges, where none could be seen before.
Each piece of this puzzle contains disturbing evidence that Bushco intends to unleash a massive, and possibly nuclear attack on Iran in the very near future. Examined separately, the pieces might seem unsettling but not calamitous. But when all of the pieces are viewed in correct perspective, when they interlock to form a complete picture, the final image is undeniable:
The puzzle we have pieced together reveals a very frightening picture: It is very plausible that in a very short time, most assuredly before the next presidential election, the murderous men in charge of US foreign policy may unleash Armageddon on us all.
Check out the Five Easy Pieces of this Doomsday Puzzle:
I'm not sure if the U.S. is actually going to bomb Iran, but if it does, I can't help but recall past governments (Nazi Germany) which used rationalizations of pre-emption for continued aggressive military attacks against others.
Syria: Alleged Israeli Flight “Hostile” Act The Syrian government has accused Israel of an intentional and hostile act over last week’s alleged flight of Israeli warplanes across Syria’s border. The Syrian army has said its air defenses fired after an Israeli plane entered Syria airspace and dropped munitions. Israel has remained silent on the alleged incident.
Retired Israeli diplomat Alon Liel: "I think Syria will accumulate very important political advantages here because it is very clear that Israel broke an international law and penetrated air space of a sovereign country, it's an enemy country but we are not in a state of war and we did something illegal and there is alot of political mileage that Syria can do on this incident."
Turkey meanwhile is also demanding Israel explain two fuel tanks found inside Turkish territory. Israel is suspected of sending the planes to gather intelligence on Syrian installations near the Turkish border.
Report: U.S. Building Military Base Near Iraq-Iran Border The Bush administration is reportedly preparing to build a military base near Iraq’s border with Iran. According to the Wall Street Journal, the base will be located four miles from the Iranian border and in place for at least two years. A U.S. commander says the base will be used to stem the flow of advanced Iranian weaponry allegedly being supplied to Iraqi insurgents. The Pentagon plans to build checkpoints, x-ray machines and censors at the only formal crossing between Iraq and Iran. The development is the latest indicating the administration is stepping up its confrontation with Iran. President Bush has threatened to confront Iran while anonymous administration and right-wing think tank sources have reported that plans have been drawn for massive air strikes.
The fact that these headlines are not in the headlines suggest they are current parts of the puzzle. Iraq is the distraction. The public mind is not allowed in the present moment. That is why we do not have 'news' any longer, only stories and commentaries about what has happened.

Take the rhetoric used before the Iraq war, change the name of the country to Iran, and you have the same speeches.
A military base within 4 miles of Iran's border to stop insurgent operatives? Do you realize how little sense this makes on such a long, open border? They are going to show a rifle along with their passport, or just skirt the border entry?
The U.S. helped provide Iran with nuclear power plants. They either create the fuel to operate them, or turn them into tourist facilities.
Iran IS the power in the Middle East now that we've destroyed Iraq as a nation. Iran doesn't need a war or domination of Iraq to obtain that position. We handed it to them.
'Tis "justified" war rhetoric all over again.

You would think that spending years as a prisoner of war would have tempered McCain on acts of agression by our country, but apparently not.
I can understand talk like this when you are a kid in the military , full of piss and vinegar, but not coming from a senator, who has lived through the nightmare of war and is speaking publicly to a crowded room...

McCain is still pissed off, after all these years, that the U.S. was not able to impose a Roman Catholic oligarchy on Vietnam. So now he wants to take his frustration out on any country at all.
