Tony Blair hoped war in Iraq would not be necessary and Saddam Hussein would be removed by diplomatic pressure, his former foreign affairs adviser says.
Sir David Manning said the former prime minister had not committed to the war at George Bush's ranch in 2002.

But he told the New Statesman the way the post-war situation was handled had been a failure.

In March 2003 Mr Blair won Parliament's backing to send British troops to war - despite a rebellion by 139 Labour MPs.

In the interview Sir David, who is soon to step down as British ambassador to Washington, denied Mr Blair had already committed to war nearly a year before.

I think Mr. B-liar, forgets about David Kelley, and the Downing Street Memo, and the fact that over 1 million people marched in London against the war (before it started).

I think it is a little late for him to try to say he made a mistake.

Nowhere in the article does Blair state he made a mistake.
You could substitute Bush for Blair in this story, No one wants a War, unless your a nutcase by the name of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.

My perception of the article is that an old friend of Tony's, is attempting to defend his going to war, even though he (Blair) didn't want to..., it is BS, and I don't think Tony Blair or anyone else that supported his actions, can come back and say, well, we really didn't want to do, but, we had no choice.

And as much as I don't (and didn't) agree with Blair, don't compare him to Bush, and I'm not even going to go there, because as far as I am concerned there is no defense for that monster and his actions.

Iran doesn't want war, and it would really help if you got your information from more than Fox news.
