Dear Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney, and all others,
I believe my community member, in his words below, has a sound solution for the end to violence in Iraq, Afghanistan, and worldwide. I implore you to honor the divine wisdom, and respect for all life, that this option offers.
Now that we have done everything else; can we give peace a chance? The only way to lead in that, is a cease fire for all.
Please show me you can listen to your divine wisdom, take Michael's, mine, and I believe our loving God's excellent advice - giving up all optional "war" for Lent; before the next harm is committed.
The US Governors' are correct; we need the National Guard home for our protection in dealing with all possible disasters on our own soil. Bringing them back is our giant baby step in increasing US domestic, and international security. Trust me, God, and the instincts of the majority of Americans and fellow humankind, on this one. I am certain that even those who would be considered terrorists, would respect a cease fire, if we entered into it with authenticity.
Please search your own soul for the end to the conflict the US Coalition forces began. Staying your current course will only increase the body count for all. An additional price to be weighed is - the effects of climate change accelerated by the added carbon emissions of our current military actions.
The habitat of all humanity is at stake when we allow any kind of nuclear weapons or power, and ignore the consequences of the other poisons we use, which foul what is essential for life. The health of the ecosystem that your children and mine will inherit is at stake; unless we make an immediate course correction on all the issues which impair life, instead of nourishing it?
All of this represents rather big karmic consequences to bear on your watch. You are in my prayers.
Godspeed,
Colleen Fernald

Re: Iraq Solution Revealed.
Mr. President,
Please command the United States Military in Iraq to stand down for Lent in honor of this ancient holy season for Christianity. This will allow us the opportunity to observe if the Sunni insurgents, Mr. Bin Laden, Muqtada al-Sadr, and the Iraqi people and their elected government representatives are sincere about peace.
I am suggesting that we call out Osama Bin Laden on his offer of peace. We have seen his skill as a warrior now let us challenge him to be peaceful. He speaks of peace. We speak of peace. Yet war is declared.
Our forty-six day stand down will allow us to see if the suicide and roadside bombings stop. We will see if the attacks on fellow Iraqis and coalition forces stop. We will see if the Iraqi people join together peacefully to rebuild their country.
When our fasting period has ended and if there is promise for continued peace, we will immediately bring twenty-five percent of our troops home on Easter Sunday and hand the Iraqi people a timetable for complete withdraw. Then, we will invest the saved money into rebuilding New Orleans so that the celebration of Mardi Gras is resurrected through the spirit of giving.
Finally, in advancing boldly toward peace we will bring nuclear disarmament to the table. If we truly learn to live together with our Arab neighbors in genuine peace and love without fear of attack by the end of 2012, we will destroy twenty-five percent of our nuclear arsenal, the equivalent percentage of the Earth?s Islamic population. The World will bear witness that we are a virtuous nation.
Mr. President, with your faith and courage, the United States of America will give up war for Lent and become a beautiful example of what it means to be Christlike.
Obediently at your service,

I'd suggest you try convincing our member 'GG' of all this, first... as an exercise in surmounting the obstacles no doubt in place on the end of the intended recipient...
Good Luck!
