he would grow a cr*p load of hemp and arrest all the oil and gmo patenting folks. He would have thought that laws to outlaw plants from bitter almond to cannabis Were a direct assault on folks natural and self evident state of being that he would see as nothing short of an attempt to separate pps from who they are in order to make slaves...something he certainly was familiar with he thought that the day we started going to market for our basics instead of home manufacturing, it would be the beginning of the end of what his dream of america was to be. I place economy among the first and most important republican virtues, and public debt as the greatest of the dangers to be feared. To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. - Thomas Jefferson, third US president, architect and author (1743-1826)
... wondering if this bit can be translated into that shorthand of yours.

WAR IS A HELLISH FORCE OF NATURE IGNOREANTZ...IN MY PANTZ
The rules of engagement: 1. these rules will only apply if the ignoreantz operatives {known 2 have committed human rights violations and crimes against humanity post, present and in all times past} do abide by these civilized standards. 2. each of the forums in the theater will be allowed 1 DMZ thread which must be marked as such in the subject heading, this will provide a safe heaven 4 conversation refugees and tending to the miles of wounded. 3. the battle field is no place 4 innocent women and children, unless you are an ignoreant insurgent please stay safely in the DMZoned threads. 4. these rules of engagement will apply unless and until Thomass The HartlessMan does prepare the treaty of peace and present it to me, god, the defender of trolls and all other life forms under the oppressive rule of the ignoreantz armies of separation segregation assimilation and doom. 5. 123456789 10 iluvu!!! but I am the walrus and here is the root cause of engagement and the perfect representation of the kind of ignoreantz that have plagued and oppressed human and other life for all the miles of history you can cover:
Author Topic: Ignoring bad manners on a BBS Thom Hartmann

So what we're left with is the same solution that works best with children who are engaging in attention-getting behavior on a schoolyard. Ignore them. Literally - do not mention them, their behavior, or their names. Act as if they totally don't exist. This is the only solution that consistently works. When ignored, such people eventually go away (usually after a short-term burst of escalated bad behavior, going for the most emotionally hard-hitting stuff they can find to beat up well-behaved members with).
So many of my friends and relatives young and oldMan that lived in the BIG HARD were ignored in every way by the ignoreantz 4 soooooo many impoverished and painfully naked years, then they were ignored again and the problem children and Supertramps 4 miles who were not killed by the perfect #s cleansing storm were shot down by the perfect #s cleansing dirty deads blacktwater powderfingered shoot to kill death squads of the ignoreantz. Like the principles of Nature and the laws of such, like Newmans apple, you can Call me Katrina...and like this yearo ourselves 2005, you can consider me the most FrantiC hurricane season on record 4 miles of worknKlausheroboneheadedmen like the hartless thoms Andger and all the Ignoreantz that have been in all our pants for thousands of years... Before the flood I think it not odd to point out what you did miles in your parting nodd, Miles of posts telling me WHAT TO DO and declaring a WAR, I offer away to make WAR no more, then you say for miles DONT TELL ME WHAT TO DO while you Close the door on the all for the few...how sad for me and you and all the rest to... You fire the first shot hartlessman, and it rang 4 miles who then came at my styles... Look out, mama, theres a white boat comin up the river With a big red beacon, and a flag, and a man on the rail I think youd better call john, cause it dont look like theyre here to deliver the mail And its less than a mile away I hope they didnt come to stay Its got numbers on the side and a gun And its makin big waves. Daddys gone, my brothers out hunting in the mountains Big johns been drinking since the river took emmy-lou So the powers that be left me here to do the thinkin And I just turned twenty-two I was wonderin what to do And the closer they got, The more those feelings grew. Daddys rifle in my hand felt reassurin He told me, red means run, son, numbers add up to nothin But when the first shot hit the docks I saw it comin Raised my rifle to my eye Never stopped to wonder why. Then I saw black, And my face splashed in the sky. Shelter me from the powder and the finger Cover me with the thought that pulled the trigger Think of me as one youd never figured Would fade away so young With so much left undone Remember me to my love, I know Ill miss her. Heres a little song to make you feel good Put a little light in your day These are crazy times And its all been getting pretty serious Heres a little song to make you feel right Send the blues away Well its a crazy game Tell me whos to blame, Im kind of curious. Right if you win, wrong if you lose Nobody listens when youre singing the blues Well somethings the matter, but nothing gets done Oh everyones waiting for a place in the sun Well something is wrong now Can something be wrong with me Oh brother, whys it got to be so crazy... Gimme little left, gimme little right Gimme little black, gimme little white Gimme little peace, gimme little hope Gimme little light cause you know it seems that the situations getting serious. He would probably have just gone along with the flow. Too concerned about his well-being to make waves that might affect his own safety or financial stability. Like most corpratist that live today, he would probably vote against his core beliefs in order to make peace with his fellow fat-cats in charge. After all, you don't become president by making everyone mad at you, do you?
Today, we are blessed with the sacred trust bequeathed to us by our Founders, and we must honor our obligations, continuing our tireless advocacy for individual liberty, the restoration of constitutional limits on government and the judiciary and the promotion of free enterprise, national defense and traditional American values.
These principles are the source of our prosperity, and, in Jefferson’s words, “a gift of God.”

Yeah he wasn't talking about your god(tm)
lets see a few other things he wrote regarding religion and the clergy.
"The clergy, by getting themselves established by law and ingrafted into the machine of government, have been a very formidable engine against the civil and religious rights of man" (letter to Jeremiah Moore, August 14, 1800)
In every country and every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own. It is easier to acquire wealth and power by this combination than by deserving them, and to effect this, they have perverted the purest religion ever preached to man into mystery and jargon, unintelligible to all mankind, and therefore the safer for their purposes" (letter to Horatio Spofford, 1814)
Yeah he definitely wasn't a fan of your church in fact he went so far as to write his own version of the Christian bible stripping out all the miraculous mumbo jumbo,
"And the day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the supreme being as his father in the womb of a virgin, will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerva in the brain of Jupiter. . . . But we may hope that the dawn of reason and freedom of thought in these United States will do away [with] all this artificial scaffolding" (April 11, 1823, as quoted by E.S. Gaustad, "Religion," in Merrill D. Peterson, ed., Thomas Jefferson: A Reference Biography, 1986, p. 287).
Not exactly the kind of fellow who would be down with the idea of Papal infallability.
Art. 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion<br />The Treaty of Tripoli 1797
No god called me into existence, I came to be as a result of natural processes that that led to the eventual evolution of the human species and then by the combination of an egg from my mother and a sperm from my dad in a natural non-mystical non-miraculous process.
When I say your god(tm) I refered to the mental construct that you use those 3 letters to describe. This being that exists no where other than the imagination of the easily manipulated minds of weak willed fearful individuals such as yourself.
Jefferson's god was a natural force who set events in motion and did not meddle with or even concern itself with such mundane things as the deeds of man.
See I understand what it is you are trying to suggest and you may even believe it, that the founders of this nation embraced revealed religion in a way similar to your own.
I tell you that that simply was not true in the case of Jefferson who specifically rejected revealed religion and had especially critical things to say about that particular flavor that you practice.
You will find no purchase for this idea that the U.S was founded upon Christian principles because it wasn't, while there were indeed Christian men involved in it's formation even they saw the inherent dangers in mixing spiritual belief with secular necessity.
That such binding could not help but cause damage to both parties. And their wisdom has served the religious well. Most of Europe have some form of Christianity Established in their law and the level of religiousity in Europe is far far lower than the United States.
As an Atheist if I really wanted to destroy religious belief as my only goal I would fully support and back your attempts to establish your mythology in law so the entire mass of the nation could grow weary of its innanity.
But I actually kind of like the idea's this country was founded on, I like the idea of a country where a man or woman can believe as they see fit just so long as they don't try to force those beliefs upon the rest of us.
You're beliefs would not concern me in the slightest if you were not part in parcel of a group who wish to destroy this nation and its founding principles.

human species and then by the combination of an egg from my mother and a sperm from my dad in a natural non-mystical non-miraculous process.
How amazingly wonderful is the spousal meaning of the body that signifies the significance of masculinity and feminity.
No laboratory can create what only our Creator created and continues to do in procreation - in the unitive conjugal love embrace between a man and a women in marriage.
quote:
particular flavor that you practice.
My flavor allows for non-Catholics to practice freely without threats except in the case of unholy practices, than it is our duty and right to speak. Case in point are the atrocities being taught to our students in public ed.
Killing of the holy innocents - 3500 unborns are denied life daily in this nation. Life is not respected. The death culture mentality is increasingly threatening and getting bolder. Terri Schiavo is a prime example.
Now it is a dilemma how to deal with many senior citizens and not enough taxpayers to support them in their need.
The Hemlock Society is fast advancing in our great nation. Some European countries have already accepted that it is a good thing to be euthanized for the betterment of society .
quote:
secular necessity
That's the basis - newly contrived convenient for today and without doubt will change for tomorrow's truths and rights of particular whims and fancies.
There is no secular necessity that is rightfully LEGAL if it is not a good based upon truth, hinged upon natural law, a law that protects the dignity of the human beings.
Laws that violates dignity of personhood is not a law to be recognized and civilized society has a grave responsibility to remove such laws.
Secular necessity is about self centeredness, fear for the future, hatred of personhood, fear of authority, as opposed to protection for the commongood.
Secular necessity is to love one's self more than others. Secular necessity is the fear and failure to love at all.

Actually this miracle you speak of is repeated dailly in petre dishes all around the country in fact all those little zygots you and your ilk fret over being destroyed in stem celll research are created in petri dish's in order to allow those parents that your natural process could not bless to be able to propegate their genetic identity.
These are not potential human beings they are left over biomass no more deserving of a shot at life than all of the billions of sperm that never find an egg or the billions that spontaneously abort or miscarry or the bits of skin that sluff off in our every waking moment. In fact if your view of reality is true then your god is the most prolific abortion performer in all existence.
You talk all this hoopla about the sanctity of life yet you and your ilk do everything in your power to ensure that those who are born live from their first breath to their last in utter misery.
You bring up Terri Schiavo as an example yet here is a woman who was medically dead she only continued to give some illusion of life through the use of technology created by man, She was kept in that sick parody of life not through actions of any god but through the actions of man and her state was maintained and supported by people who claim that god is the authority in all things yet did everything in their power to thwart the natural course of actions, Saying not that god should decide but rather than YOU SHOULD DECIDE.
So died and made you God? If your god so much wanted Schiavo to live then perhaps he might have gotten up off his metaphorical ass and healed her. But he did no such thing. So maybe just perhaps one might think that you and the people like you might have concluded that you god wanted Schiavo dead and all you were doing was delaying her passing to the next stage of her existence.
No you'd never think about that, Not you in your arrogance in your hubris in your desire to play god.
You pretend you are speaking for some greater power but the truth is that you speak only for yourself and your own little sick demented scared mind.
Terror rules your life GG; not love, not god, But fear the terrible gripping fear that leads people to forgo their gift of reason and instead fall back on dogma and demogogery.
There is no deliemma about how to support the senior population what is lacking is the political will.
The reality is that there are plenty of resources to go around we do not have a shortage of resources. We have more than sufficient food to feed the planet we have sufficient technology to allow them to live healthy lives.
What is lacking is the political will to put in place systems that would result in fair and reasonable distribution of said resources.
The reason is because of a blind obedience to a economic system who's primary focus is not human well being but profit.
If you really wanted to prevent abortions then you would work to address the structural and institutional influences that make it a desirable choice. You would support more equitable distribution of resources so that economics lost its influence as a deciding factor on whether to have another baby or abort in order to maintain a certain standard of life for those who are already alive. You would support programs that would insure that a woman could actually have the choice to have a child and a carreer or have access to sufficient resources that she could actually afford to give a decent life to that baby.
You would support comprehensive sex ed so that women would understand how exactly this miracle that leaves you in so much awe actually happens so they will know that when they're boyfriend tells them they can't have a baby if they pull out before ejaculation that he is lying. Or that having anal sex will not protect her from venerial desease.
But you don't want to do that, you want to establish the Catholic equivelent of Sharia Law so that women are stuck back in the kitchen barefoot and pregnant the constant victim of domestic abuse and denegrated to an existence of slavery as property of men.
And you have the nerve and audacity to claim that you seek what you seek for the good of women?
You're system of morality was judged by the founders of this Nation as being wanting and an abject failure. They judged rightly that your religion is a decease infecting the plannet and they took efforts to limit your ability to infest this country with your pestilence.

Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined and imprisoned; yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity.
The whole history of these books [the Gospels] is so defective and doubtful that it seems vain to attempt minute enquiry into it: and such tricks have been played with their text, and with the texts of other books relating to them, that we have a right, from that cause, to entertain much doubt what parts of them are genuine. In the New Testament there is internal evidence that parts of it have proceeded from an extraordinary man; and that other parts are of the fabric of very inferior minds. It is as easy to separate those parts, as to pick out diamonds from dunghills.
-Thomas Jefferson, letter to John Adams, January 24, 1814
