Just read three very good ones over the last week:

1.Dan Millman's latest: Journey of Socrates.
2.Wayne Dyer, The Power of Intention.
3.Greg Braden, The God Code. (This last one will blow your hair back: visionary.)

Hey brother, have you read Gregg Braden's The Isaiah Effect as well?

Andger, thanks for the recommendation. Ive not read it but some one else spoke highly of it.

Just as an aside, funny how the Universe opens astonishing things for us. I just moved to Santa Fe and got an entire 1/2 million house to care for for an absentee owner, housesitting for as long as I want - rent free. The Power of Intention!

It's cool. It's like much of the Law of Attraction stuff that's out there (cf. Chopra/Abundance, among others), though here presented with a background of ancient texts, a bit of science and a few cool stories - and the technique of prayer as an entry. Gregg's not the best of writers technically, but it'll be worth your while. Ever since I finished it, The God Code has been sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. Wink

On a bit of another note, I reckon you'll also quite like Derrick Jensen's works.

Nice one! Reminds me of the flick called The Secret that Claire sent me the other day - which is also about the Law of Attraction / the Power of Intention and that kind of stuff... whatever we choose to call it... Goofy old universe, huh? Cool

Hi there strangers,

I am not one for fiction but my step-mum sent me The Codes of Power by Diana Cooper last week. I don't know that I'd recommend it by page 16 - it seems a bit Celestine Prophecy but is about people waking up to secret hidden powers of the universe. And the title fits the thread!

Funny, talking to my sister on the phone yesterday, our spiritual step-mum also gave her The Secret recently.

AND... If my baby due in December is a boy, Isaiah is on the shortlist of names. Smiler

As for Donald Duck, thank goodness no, but I am sick of Shrek thanks to Little Miss 2.

Hey Anger, Smiler yeah I'm going well. Well as 6 month preggers trying to match wits and stamina with a two year old can be.

I hope you are going well. Smiler

You too Miles. Thanks for the reminder. Ice Age is worth keeping a look out for again.

Andger, I picked up Endgame I & II after Stein mentioned it.

Ah Chris, hi there!

A movie to look out for that I haven't seen yet is 10 Canoes - a Rolf De Heer film. The cast are Australian Aboriginal descendants of the people the story is based on. It was filmed on traditional land (and croc infested water). The creation of the film actually revived lost cultural practices, in respect of and adherence to cultural practices and it is spoken in language. It looks stunning. I've only seen documentaries based on the creation.

Wobbe, you mean The Isaiah effect? Or are you referring to Endgame?
