In the 'The Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight' Thom indicated that the world had about 30 years or less until the oil reserves run dry.

Now considering the world population explosion now and the excessive use of oil,what would be a current estimate of the amount of years left before oil reserves run dry completely?

I suspect it depends a lot on whose estimate you favour, and what changes in technology and the economy. There are some clues here.
