Just wanted to see if this was on your radar. My husband is a career naval officer (prior enlisted "Mustang") and is currently a LCDR and the Navigator on the USS Maine (somewhere out under the pacific :-).
Recently some of our friends -nuclear engineers like my husband -have been sent to serve in army positions in Baghdad. We have two good friends there right now. The reason they were sent is that they were trying to get out and they were given the choice of staying in for a nother few years or serving the rest of their time in Baghdad. Great choice, huh? To my knowledge, this is also happening to pilots in the Air Force.
I've never heard of this happening before and I just wanted to see if you were aware of it.
My husband is coming up on his last few years and there will be a gap between his last shore tour (woo hoo) and his 20 yr mark - I wonder if they are going to force him to stay in using the same tactics.
