Recently, I've found more and more metaphysics in science:

The Biology of Beilief
How the (bleep) do we know?

etc.

Anyone know good boards where there is scientific discussion of this or HAARP or similiar topics?

I don't know what HAARP is, but awhile back douglaslee posted something about the "biology of prayer" ... on Jan 11, 6:28 PM in this thread: Prayer

"The Biology of Belief" is the best book on Science I've ever read. It's well worth $25. Its written by a Former member of Stanford's Medical Faculty, but easy to read. It's the culmination of ideas that Depak Chopra poineered.

HAARP - High Atmosphere Auroual Reaserch Project - blasting the ionosphere to alter it. The Navy claims it's to improve communications amonst its subs in the Arctic. Obviously, it could also disupt communications that reied on the ionosphere. It can also weaponise weather:
Create drought in an adversary, start a blizzard during your enemy's offensive, or a thunderstorm on election day in a heavily Democratic city.

Since all our bodies systems, including our brain are effected by electromagnatism, it could THERORETICALLY be used for mind control, creating hormones that are associated with fear or apathy. However, I think the awareness that has come from Bush crying wolf too often would be enough to raise awareness that would immunise us from these attacks, unless they were used sparingly on let's say, election day.

HAARP is the:
High
Atmosphere
Aroural
Reseach
Project

They're blasting the ionsophere with electricity to see what happens

Since water is highly charged, it's easy to change weather (rain}. I'm sure the military loves that. Also, all chemical reactions, including those in our bodies emit or absorb electromagetism, so it is possible they use it to mess with our minds. (Ever try a negative ion generator?}

It doesn't seem like they have that effect down, else they'd use it on election day, to depress voters in liberal areas, and increase excitement in conservative areas. Maybe I'll find out differently tommorrow.

scienceblogs is a good site. i often go there for information for research for my lab projects (im majoring in marine biology)

alas, i TRIED to intelligently debate about the status of our marine life on a thread here, only to have GG crash it and start talking her jesus and catholic church crap (not that jesus is crap, just not the topic at hand).

next year after i get my degree, im starting an internship at the mote marine laboratory in sarasota florida. they are one of the leading places for tagging studies, studies on red tide and other marine microbes, as well as rehabilitating injured marine life like manatees, dolphins, and sea turtles.

i would actually like to discuss things like this on this site, in an intelligent way, but frankly, i am getting tired of GG constantly changing the topic or just spewing her self rightous morality onto the thread. i really want to ignore her but im against censorship, even buts like GG. any ideas on how to deal with this? ive tried ignoring her responces, tried to play her game, and tried to reason with her to stay on topic, all to no avail.

debating conservatives is easy. so easy, even a caveman can do it!

Frankly you can ignore her, or argue with her. You're not going to win an argument with her (My wife is Catholic and GG has told me that both my wife and online resources that I have found are wrong). I gave up arguing because there was no way I would ever convince her that she is anything but right. She ignores any points that she disagrees with if she doesn't have a "good" rebuttal.

So... Ignore her. (Sorry I can't offer better advice)...

On the subject of Science resources. I like New Scientist (http://www.newscientist.com/home.ns)
although it's not a Blog, it's a magazine...
and Motion Mountain (http://www.motionmountain.net/) The free Physics text book.

I hope that these help.

ftmyerfisherman, I know that several people have tried to convince you to just let it go. Including many I respect.

So I don't know if it will help my advice. But here goes. Just let it go. Take off her quotes. And let her do her thing.

Has it gotten you anywhere? Has it (from your perspective) improved GG? If you can find a reason that it improves yourself, then I would say continue with what you are doing, but if I am correct in understanding your last post, then you need to change because GG will not with the present approach.

I am glad that you are not one to call for censorship first. And I have had enough experience with that.

Next, no one can change the subject unless you let them. A person can only add to a discussion, she nor anyone can take anything away.

Of course if the topic has too much 'wasted' space then there are a couple of techniques to solve this:
1. Just repost the most important post before the disruption.
2. Add more information/links/data to the ongoing conversation.
3. Create a summary of the preceeding discussions to help it move forward and post it.
4. Open a new thread with the summary created in step 3.
5. Just give up and move along-not a good idea.

And of course I can't mention the persons name but there are some people here that use any and all the tactics I listed.

PS: Just think of flowers.

PSS: And one more piece of advice, be sure to study economics.
