100 most frequently challenged books.John Gray's list is stuff everyone's heard of, then I started thinking of J.D. Salinger's "Catcher in the Rye"...now it didn't change the world, but made the most challenged list, and another of banned books. I think the Sean Connery movie "Searching for Forrester" was a Salinger character study. Some trivia on the book shows connections that might lead some to conclude that it almost changed the world.
