Maybe a good time to revisit the definition of ad hominum

From Wikipedia:

An ad hominem argument, also known as argumentum ad hominem (Latin: "argument to the person", "argument against the man") consists of replying to an argument by attacking or appealing to the person making the argument, rather than by addressing the substance of the argument. It is most commonly used to refer specifically to the ad hominem abusive, or argumentum ad personam, which consists of criticizing or personally attacking an argument's proponent in an attempt to discredit that argument.

You just don't get it, do ya? I know who Scott Ritter is. Never heard of Scott Ridder. Does he own the Knight-Ridder newspapers?

And it is obvious that you do not read, but rather listen. The sort of mistake you made more than evidences that fact.

Jrudi seems to be bored with us. What can we do to spice up his attention here? I hate the idea that somebody is captive to a tedious, empty experience on this message board. It is our duty to provide the best possible entertainment for the cons on this site. Elsewise, how are we to keep them coming back for more?

I, also, am on a well, and believe me. I see that expense in my electric bill. I have no choice there. I am stuck with one robber utility company.

The people of Oregon have, in their wisdom, rejected the idea of a publicly owned power utility. They believe that privatized utilities yield the benefits of consumer "choice". They haven't figured out yet that the power company has lots of choices, but that the individual rate-payer has no choice at all.

My power supplier is the only power company that Enron was able to purchase as a part of it's profit strategy. PGE now touts its independance from Enron, but continues to extort the same high rates as before. I have no choice in this, other than to collect rain water and do my laundry down at the riverside, pounding it with rocks.

When electric rates tripled in Calif. several years ago, thanks to rigging a "free market", Los Angeles Water and Power (City owned) had NO rate increase. You passed up a good thing in Oregon.

L.A. Water and Power has consistently had among the lowest rates in the country since its inception. Head of it has a salary cap, no profits need be earned for dividends. The dividend is in lower rates to the people who own it. The residents of Los Angeles. The government is YOU.

There are many wonderful charitable organizations and usually better off without he use of any government money who then want to control the programs.

Our tax dollars should directly choose to whom and what organizations we want to support. BIG DADDY digs too deeply into our pockets.

I abhore the idea that my tax dollars are being used to kill babies and to experiment on EMBRYONIC stem cells and cloning, for instance.

But there isn't a level playing field that's a big part of the problem.

But we cannot create equality by socialist/entitlements. Thank God we have SOME programs and that's what makes us a great nation. The Democrat Party proposes to under advantaged to care FOR them, seeking voter blocks, but these same legislators do not shares their own wealth but USE OUR TAXES TO WIN VOTES and ever increasing more and more going no where programs that keep people stuck! Take a look at the illegals and their entitlements and protections. Illegals have more advantages than American citizens.(thank you nancy!)

The destitute poor don't ask for equality. Just justice. I realize that paying $50 for a kid to have an infected tooth pulled may seem a terrible tax confiscation by some. So we just plain LET HIM DIE in good old Colorado. Contrary, of course to the teachings of GG's church.

Charieties??? They are stretched to the breaking point. At my monastery we sometimes went without meals to feed the destitute when they showed up on the doorstep. Kids included.

"Use my tax money to save some kid I don't even know! Theft!", yells the Conservative. Then, "Go to hell", says Christ. "AS you have done to the least of these, you have done to me. Go then into everlasting punishment".

"Woe to ye rich, for ye have received your consolation"., OR

"It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven",

or, "You cannot worship God and mammon (money)"

Need I go on GG?? You cannot be a conservative, put your hand on a bible and say, "I am a Christian". They are opposing ideas. Opposing ideals. Conservative thinking is in direct opposition to everything Jesus taught in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Read them. Conservative thought is in direct opposition to the teachings of your church..
If you want to oppose the teachings of the church, then stop saying you are catholic. If you want to pretend you are Christian, join a Fundie church.

Either that or walk a Christian walk along with the talk.

Don't add lie on top of lie.
