The act seems as if it were constructed to destroy public education because, according to the site:

1. It punishes schools in poor districts by taking away funds.
2. It even takes money away from schools in wealthy districts.
3. Sometimes districts are not paid at all even if they merit it, according to test scores.
4. Teachers are forced to teach to the test instead of emphasizing education and learning.
5. Teaching to the test means children learn by rote learning which usually proves boring. This turns kids off to education even more than they already are.
7. Since positive feelings are associated with increased learning, this decreases learning.
8. Instead of the Fed gov working with teachers, they are at loggerheads.

A proper education begins at home with good parenting skills and positive parenting that enhances emotions and learning.

Maybe you would like to have that federally mandated and enforced criminally?

No child left behind is not perfect but certainly is showing glaring flaws in education. I would rather see the flaws then continue with the Status Quo
