I vaguely remember that there was someone in a position above Fitzgerald or supervising him that was lured away into another position as Fitzgerald was in the early stages of investigating the Plame case. This was before indicting Libby, and, I think, before questioning Rove.

Anyone know the details about this? I hardly noticed it at the time, except that some people said it was oddly "convenient," and that the supervisor's replacement may exert more pressure to limit Fitzgerald's case.

Anyone?

I don't remember the pieces you're talking about. The Plame case got real confusing real fast, with all the different people and versions of stories in the mix.
