The Wild Divine is something that you must discover for yourself. It is unique to you. Diversity is what makes the planet healthy. Diversity of plants and animals is necessary for the surival of the blue planet, just as the diversity of our inner wisdom and cultural wisdom must not be closed in a box but allowed to sprout and grow.

Ok, I've had the game for three days now, and I'm not sure yet where this is going. It could be that I'm just learning a bunch of simple breathing techniques combined with 'yoga 101', could be that in the end, something more profound will be the result:
quote:
Also, when we are in this state of coherence [between Heart Rate Variability (HRV) and brain(waves)], its desired vibration pattern ripples out around us in an electromagnetic doughnut shape detectable eight or more feet in all directions. It even shows up in the brainwaves of anyone we touch!
(sounds rather far-fetched, I know)
In any case, it definately does something. For one thing, I normally sleep quite well and solid, but it's been long since I slept like I did the last two nights...

A two-minute Internet search reveals, amongst other articles:
In fact, it has been proven that heart rate variability is an indicator of good health.
Consistently beating hearts are prone to failure and failure of other systems. It has been theorized that the mechanism for this is interference waves. Consistent hearts enhance waves, causing mechanical trauma. Variable hearts interfere with their own waves, cancelling mechanical trauma.
This is like the regular beating of waves on a bridge, or the steady marching of soldiers breaking the structure mechanically through resonance alone.

I seem to remember Thom writing or saying that there are two kinds of meditation - perhaps one more suited to hunters and one more suited to farmers. And in the Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight, George Than suggested using beads, a sound, or a mental picture, depending on whether you are tactile, aural or visual. Who does the Wild Divine suit?

Sue, the Wild Divine is a game, with many flaws, so I would not recommend it as a way to meditate to anyone. Not by itself, anyway.
I don't know for whom it's suitable; I like it, but I don't think I'm either a clear-cut farmer or hunter. It uses many different approaches, including some VERY basic yoga exercises (To call it 'Yoga 101' would be too much honor...) But you have to sit still, behind your computer, for hours.
Gnarly, that's what the people from WD tell us, too; interesting.
