Some of us try to make the formatting and punctuation readable, and seeing codes doesn't show the final appearance. The preview is also a good way to catch typos and misspellings.

Spell check and preview post have both been requested at the groupee support forum, but I can see no news of when or whether they might be introduced.
Some members at the groupee support forum suggest the free (but donations invited) Internet Explorer browser extension spell check product from http://www.iespell.com/ . They say it is is quick, small, easy, checks spelling in ANY text box, and has a customizable dictionary. Would anybody care to try it and let us know how it works?
Posting Page Settings that I can alter are: - Post Popup Height - Post Popup Width - Post Message Box Height - Post Message Box Width
I can also change the style, e.g. colours and images and the words that go with them.

And as already mentioned, I can add custom graemlins. All I need is some copyright-free graemlins and their names that are the same size and shape as the ones supplied, which don't take up too much room.

How do we get Thom on more stations? There is NOTHING in Alabama. Here's one, but I don't know who to send this to. wtbc@dbtech.net Alabama needs some intelligence to introduce into its cultural isolation. I know I was 'bahn n bred theah'. Cheers, Alice

It seems to work OK on posts made in this forum. I just tried "search engine" and it came up with your post. Sorry about the historical stuff; nothing can be done about that.

Sue -
I've been using ieSpell for a while now. It's easy to use - just right click and check spelling - and works well.
I also use a program called tinySpell. It's a small program which emits a sound when the user misspells a word. I keep it on all the time. According to the site:
tinySpell (totally free - no adware/spyware/nagware/etc.) Checks spelling in any Windows application Uses little system resources Checks spelling on-the-fly (alerts if the last typed word was misspelled) Checks spelling of a word that is copied to the clipboard Optionally beeps on error (now with hot-key control - new in v1.4) The beep sound can be easily set to any wav file (new in v1.4) Opens replacements list with a simple mouse click or a hot-key Optionally copies the selected replacement word to the clipboard Optionally inserts the selected replacement word into the document Allows you to add words to the dictionary Easy Enable/Disable
I like it a lot, but it doesn't work on some online forms. In those cases, I use ieSpell. I hope that helps.

Hi, I just installed the spell checker, as so many spelling checkers don't correctly spell. But how do I use it? I downloaded it and saved it, but now don't know what else I'm supposed to do. Help. Alice

I'm getting that too; but as nobody else said anything and I could find no mention of it in the software support forum, I thought it must be a quirk of my email software. There's no obvious reason why it is happening as far as I can see?
Is anyone else having this problem, or not? I don't want to experiment if it is not a common problem.

Alice, please could you keep all discussion on this subject here in this topic? It really does not belong in "On Air questions for Thom Hartmann", for example.
Have you seen my reply above?

Yet, I had an email from you that was NOT duplicated, maybe from another forum. What gives?
Can you let me have a copy of what that one looked like, please? The title and the copied content - not any personal details.
