You can enjoy wine without be a snooty about it. I noticed that some beers are more expensive than some wines Go Figure. Anyhow, I can across this jug wine from California
I live Zinfaindel and they usually start at $15.00 for your standard 750 ml bottle but Three Thieves is $10.99 for a full liter and its great! goes great with grilled foods. very drinkable
Anybody know of some great bargains out there (cork not required)

I'm just not qualified to have an opinion. My wife brings home "this interesting little wine" about every other day. The finer wine tastes are totally lost on me. If it comes with a screw-top cap and it's cheap with a hearty flavor (any hearty flavor) that's for me. Gallo Burgundy is a major food group for me.

I once worked as a waiter in a snooty french restaurant. They held a blind wine-tasting session for training and I consistently chose the cheapest, worst-quality wine as my favorite.

Oh well, I'll look out for your Three Thieves brand and give it a try.

You have taste buds. You have olfactory sensations (fancy way of saying a nose) You have an opinion.

PS Love those dogs. I am use to the pure bred Great Pyr ianese which is much larger than 90 lbs.

That is one magnificent Pyr! To be sure, the Maremma (the Italian version of the same dog) is not nearly as impressive to look at. They are slightly smaller and not quite as bushy. On the other hand, they are reputed to be somewhat more "business-like" (whatever that means) as guardians. Their coats are quite a bit different, as well.

We have a neighbor a few miles from us who have three purebred Pyrs. Their coats are always a hopeless mess during the winter. The Maremma coat is mostly a hard, resilient guard hair with less fluffy undercoat to tangle. It is truly amazing. they can be completely covered with mud, and an hour later, they will be almost perfectly clean. Ours have never had a bath, yet you can dig your fingers into their coats down to the skin and your hand comes back completely clean.

I believe that the lower weight of our dogs is more a matter of appetite and metabolism. They always worried us because they seemed to have little interest in food, and their ribs were more prominent than we liked. The vet said that was OK. Also, they are not heavily muscled, like a Rotwieller or, for that matter, a Basset Hound.

Our Pyreness/Maremma mix has proven to be quite popular as guardians. We have sold upwards of 50 pups over the years and they are proving to be affective where large cats, and even bears are a predator problem.

Thank you for noticing our pooches. Once you get me started, I can talk about these dogs all day long.

I have an idea: You can put their picture on a wine bottle.

Ah - beer and wine as symbols of what makes life worth living. A good dog and a nice set of hops. But what is left for hard liquor?
