If you google Abramoff, you might see what's going on with them.

Here's what I found:

U.S. Suggests Cutting Abramoff Sentence

By CURT ANDERSON
The Associated Press
Thursday, March 22, 2007; 1:18 PM

MIAMI -- Federal prosecutors took the first steps toward reducing the prison sentence of former Washington lobbyist Jack Abramoff, currently scheduled for release in 2011 for a Florida fraud conviction.

Documents filed in federal court say Abramoff has provided "substantial assistance" in a separate Washington corruption scandal investigation and continues to work with investigators from his prison cell in Cumberland, Md.

A letter to the Justice Department, inquiring about the investigations.

***

The letter was from Democracy 21. Here's the web site for that organization.

WOW. Two posts that do not adddress his question.

His question is: Were the fired Prosecutors working on Republican investigations when they were fired?

There has to be something relating to it in your 110 Gonzales threads. Wink IF it exists

Burt,

(I just noticed a related question, also in open space: the other thread)

Yours, as I understand it is, "Were the investigations of Republican corruption cancelled or supsended, when the fired prosecutors were fired?"

I'm not sure what the DOJ protocol is for transferring case loads in the event of a firing of a prosecutor. It seems like a question that has its answers in files that are under some kind of security shield.

I followed the work of federal prosecutors for awhile, in a study of newspaper articles discussing Jack Abramoff's role in Republican corruption, but I've not been following Abramoff lately. It was interesting to see that, this week, a petition was entered to reduce Abramoff's sentence. I quoted and linked that story earlier in this thread.
