I'm not sure what the DOJ protocol is for transferring case loads in the event of a firing of a prosecutor. It seems like a question that has its answers in files that are under some kind of security shield.
I followed the work of federal prosecutors for awhile, in a study of newspaper articles discussing Jack Abramoff's role in Republican corruption, but I've not been following Abramoff lately. It was interesting to see that, this week, a petition was entered to reduce Abramoff's sentence. I quoted and linked that story earlier in this thread.
