Thom said on last Friday's show that in one week CSPAN would be at the Portland studios and would be showing the whole show live.

Seems to have been a success. I looked in at the forums shortly after the c-span show ended, and there were about 50 on line, and several new members looking around, plus a few new talkers. Good to see some New.

I caught a Re-Run of the C-Span Friday show, during the wee hours of Sat. morning. Was really interesting!

Watching & listening to Cable TV News, whether CNN, MSNBC or Faux News, is like trying to "digest" the old, dirty cardboard the Chinese street vendor scraped off the street, mixed with a little fatty meat & water, & passed off as Dumplings. MMMM, Yummy!

"Countdown" w/ Keith Olbermann is one of the rare exceptions to this dumbed down "diet".

The only "free" Talk Radio where I live, is Right Wing, or Right Wing Christian, or NPR.
Even tho we're rural, small town, Bible Belt, you won't find many Bush supporters or Iraq War supporters anymore, even tho the only Talk Radio we can get is right-wing.

Our LOCAL Democratic Party has really woke up, Today, the West KY Labor Day Committee is having a "ROCK THE VOTE" event in Paducah, KY, featuring LOCAL "underground" BANDS, & young voters will be able to REGISTER to VOTE.

It's called "PaducahPalooza II: Labor Day Battle of the Bands". Admission is FREE, but Fans can vote for their favorite Band, at $1 a vote, with proceeds going to the local Cooperative Ministry. So it will even help a local Charitable group, made up of several area Churches.

I think this is Democracy at it's best, at the GRASSROOTS, with a new Generation of Young People injecting some JUICE into a normally rather boring political event.

How'd it happen? A local 22 yr. old band promoter followed his DAD to a Labor Day committee meeting last year!

So, if any of you out there have 20 something kids, get them to go with you to a local political get-together or meeting. It is amazing what they can bring to the "Party"!
