Hi Artlo,

So far as I can tell from the documentation, this is done in 2 stages.

First you go to http://account.groupee.com and register your new email address.

Then you come back to the forum (and any other forum you belong to that is run by Groupee) and click on "go" then "personal zone" and then "profile". Then click on "View/Edit Complete Profile". Then click in the "Change Account Email?" and fill in the details. You will then need to respond to a system-generated email to verify your new address.

If you have any problems, please email me at thomhartmannadminsue@googlemail.com quoting your old email address so I know it is from you.

Well, it was quite a blunder to try updating my Email address. I thought I did it right, but I got to a point where I either got "invalid username or password" or "this Email address is already in use". The confirmation Email didn't work. So, I re-registered with a new name and the old Email address.

If there is any way to get this straightened out, that would be best. I will completely lose the old Email address in January, and that could mess me up.

I'm a little puzzled, Sue. Your member profile doesn't show an Email address.

I take it that the process hasn't worked for others. The problem came when your site notified me that I needed to verify the new address and sent me an Email with a link to do that. I attempted that 4 or 5 times and only got the error message. It was only when you intervened that we made it work. May be software issue at your end.

I don't recall anyone trying before, but I may be wrong. What error message did you get?

Now,I don't remember. It was either the "invalid username or password" or "this Email Address already in use". This Email with the link didn't come from you, Sue. It was probably automatically generated by groupee.

Sue, I just attempted to register at the new message board and it says that my login is being blocked. It tells me to contact the administrator; I believe that's you?

Hi artlo,

sorry about that. The message is not very helpful. It probably means that you have not replied to the email that the system sends out to verify that the email address you used is valid.

A few people are finding that the email is ending up in their spam boxes, so check there.

Failing that, email me at thomhartmannadminsue@googlemail.com using the same email address, and I'll amend your record to show the email address as verified.
