Moved to "Hot Topics", where all the controversial stuff is hidden.

roflmaoWow, this is exactly why people believe in "Conspiracy Theories"! Suppression of the Truth only makes it more popular.

Who pulled the Hartmann is a SHILL for AIPAC thread, and why? It is disturbing when we are having an important discussion about the arbitrary limitations on freedom of discussion and debate on Thom's show, to have this thread peremptorily eliminated, with no explanation.

It is a sad reminder to me that the left is not without its hypocrisy, when it comes to advocating a "democratic marketplace of ideas," "free thinking" and "free expression," and the like. I have found this tendency all over the left -- whether it be Amy Goodman's inexplicable refusal to cover 9/11 issues or the grave issue of peak oil, and similar things with Common Dreams.org, where, in Stalinist manner, they have edited out article messages that go too deeply into the fact that 9/11 was an inside job. Indeed, most of the so-called "left" media has been missing in action on the mountain of evidence showing 9/11 was an inside job; hence the rise of the well deserved term, "left gatekeepers."

This is a good place to remind everyone that the left is full of its petty despots, "minders" who feel they are entitled to arbitrarily circumscribe debate.

It is over in the hot topics section, like Loki said.

It's the equivalent of a newspaper taking a story off the front page and putting it on page 16. Not censorship, just deemphasizing it.

This is quite an eye opener. Sue N, I am sorry to say that the events here warrant greater exposure in the chat rooms and on air calls in my opinion. I do not wish an antagonistic relationship over this issue, but unlesss we have some additional communication it will be difficult to not want to increase exposure. This is not meant to threaten, rather it is to ask for clarification before the issue grows larger.

The description of the hot topics section is, "Discussions that are too diverse to fit into one section, or more heated than debate." It fits into the second category. I often warn people before moving discussions, but as I was working on the board while most of you were still in bed, and there were ad hominems involved, I decided not to wait. I don't want ad hominems to be the first thing that people see, particularly newbies.

Since some people prefer hot topics and make a bee line for them, I could argue that this was a promotion rather than a demotion.

I'll be moving this discussion to join its fellow in due course.

I think it's obvious by now that the people controlling this message board & Hartman himself are complete hacks. All I suggest you do if help me get the word out on this scandal and call Hartman and other Radio Talk show hosts on Air America yourself. For some strange reason everybody is afriad to talk about it.

Well. It seems like a political hot potato. Interesting problem.

quote:
Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.) this week blamed a pro-Israel lobbying group for blocking legislation earlier this year that would have prevented President Bush from starting a war with Iran without congressional approval.

Moran, whose political career has been jeopardized by his past attempts to criticize the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), tried to walk a careful line as he complained about the group.

I agree. Pages in this forum scroll off the screen quickly, while Hot Topics tends to be in view for longer.

Sue N -perhaps the moving is not as ominous as I thought, but the way this whole incident has gone seems disturbing.

Mattnapa, there are people around who assume the worst, and encourage others to do; it's all part of the "be afraid mentality". All I ask is that people judge for themselves instead of joining the stampede to judge harshly.
