The Catholic Church does not throw people out, Gerry.

How come I couldn't have a Catholic Wedding because I wasn't Catholic? My wife was Catholic yet the closest thing we could get was a (it's been a while) Methodist priest.

How come you were calling for Kerry's EXCOMMUNICATION not too long ago for having political views different than what you thought they should be?

Your Church DOES, in fact, kick people out.

quote:
2000-present

* Marek Bozek and six board members of the former St. Stanislaus Kostka parish in St. Louis were declared to have incurred automatic excommunication for schism by the archbishop of St. Louis, Raymond Leo Burke. Before this, Bozek was canonically suspended for leaving his assigned parish outside of St. Louis without permission in order to head St. Stanislaus.
* Edwin Gonzalez Concepcion of Puerto Rico and his followers were excommunicated for preaching that he was the reincarnation of Pope John Paul II.
* Genevieve Beney of France was excommunicated for claiming to be an ordained priest, even though she was married and female.
* Gert Petrus of Namibia was excommunicated for practicing witchcraft.
* Christine Mayr-Lumetzberger and six other members of the Danube Seven who were excommunicated for simulating being ordained by a South American bishop who had left the Church to join a sect, as priests. The Danube Seven were declared excommunicated ferendae sententiae for 'grave disobedience' and 'aiding schism'.
* Emmanuel Milingo was excommunicated for marrying a woman selected by Sun Myung Moon in a Moonie ceremony, then attempting to ordain married men as bishops (those claiming ordination were also excommunicated).

1900-2000

* Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, formally declared incurred latae sententiae by Pope John Paul II through Ecclesia Dei for the Ecône Consecrations without papal mandate.
* Oblate Fr. Tissa Balasuriya - revoked less than a year later
* Fidel Castro in 1962 - has since attended mass with Pope John Paul II
* Joe DiMaggio - for bigamy. (Reversed 1962)[1]
* François Duvalier-Withdrawn within four years.[2]
* Fr. Leonard Feeney - for his belief that unless one joins the Catholic Church, that person goes to hell. [3]
* George Jackson Mivart-Excommunicated for suspected Modernism . Four years after his death his friends successfully argued that in his last years he had become insane due to diabetes. This led to his reburial in a Catholic cemetery.[4]
* Sinéad O'Connor - for simulating being ordained by a schismatic church, the Palmarian Catholic Church.
* Manuel Alonso Corral - asked Pope Paul VI to be forgiven and was absolved of all ecclesial penalties in 1976, until 1981 when he was again excommunicated by Pope John Paul II for illicit consecrations.
* Joaquín Sáenz y Arriaga, S.J. - In his books The New Montinian Church (1971) and Sede Vacante (1973) he stated that Paul VI had forfeited his papal authority. He was a catalyzing influence on sedevacantism.
* Juan Perón - Excommunicated in 1955 after he signed a decree ordering the expulsion of Argentine bishops Manuel Tato and Ramón Novoa[5][6]
* Feliksa Kozłowska (1906)

Our Embassy built by slaves. Proud to be American once again. The symbol of the free world in Iraq was built by slaves.

Explain why you support what is being done in our name? Remember, YOU'RE the one who told us not to question what is going on over there. This is a result of the blind faith.

quote:
Federal prosecutors are investigating the Kuwaiti company building the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, probing allegations that foreign employees were brought to work on the massive project against their will and prevented from leaving the country.

The Department of Justice launched the probe of First Kuwaiti General Trading & Contracting Co. after former employees alleged that workers at the company were told they were being sent to Dubai, only to wind up in Iraq instead, people familiar with the matter said. According to the allegations, First Kuwaiti confiscated the workers’ passports, so they were unable to depart Baghdad, these people said.

A statement by First Kuwaiti said, “We are not aware of any DOJ investigation involving First Kuwaiti. The DOS has already fully investigated these ludicrous allegations and has found them to be without merit. First Kuwaiti is proud of its accomplishments and of its efforts to build the U.S. embassy in Baghdad on time, within budget, and in compliance with the law.”

The $592 million project involves a heavily fortified compound of 21 buildings on 104 acres in Baghdad’s Green Zone, and is set to be completed by September. First Kuwaiti won the project in a competitive-bidding process, besting several better-known firms.

Christ came not for the well but for sinners, for the sick, as we are ALL ARE in some manner.

YOU CAN'T SAY YOU KNOW WHAT CHRIST CAME FOR.

YOU DON'T KNOW!!!

You can say, "I think..." or you can say, "in the bible it says..." but you can't say ANYTHING as a matter of fact. YOU DON'T KNOW. YOU CAN ONLY GUESS.

Your inability to answer the slavery question cancels your authority on it.

Since we are on the Christian Scriptures, what is Jesus' Grandfathers name? Should be an easy question with all those genealogies, right?

quote:
After listing the genealogy of Jesus, Matthew tells us that Joseph was not Jesus' father after all, which of course makes the entire genealogy meaningless. The Holy Ghost, not Joseph, was the one who impregnated Mary, contradicting many scriptures which clearly state that Joseph was the father of Jesus.

quote:
(1:16) "Jacob begat Joseph."
Joseph's father (the grandfather of Jesus). Matthew says Joseph's father was Jacob; Luke (3:23) says his name was Heli.

AJ, people EXcommunicate themselves. The Church is to heal the sick but the Catholic Church cannot impose healing if one is not ready to renounce their sin.

My daughter and husband married in the Catholic Church and he was not considered Catholic (he had not received the Sacrament of Confirmation). The Eucharistic part of the Mass is not included because they bride and groom cannot receive the Body and Blood of Christ. Their marriage is as binding as Christ is to the Church - a covenant relationship one to the other.

Kerry has induced his own excommuication. It is NOT the Catholic Church that has done it to him.

When was Jesus born?

Enough of your ignorant certainty.

YOU DON'T KNOW.

quote:
Before 4 BCE.
-----------------

Matthew 2:1
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king.

Luke 1:5
There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.

Herod the Great died in 4 BCE.

After 6 CE.
--------------------

Luke 2:1
And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)

Quirinius became governer of Syria in 6 CE, ten years after king Herod's death.

AJ, where did you get this trash?

Joseph was Jesus earthly father. Mary was perpetual Virgin before, during, and after the birth of Jesus. God prepared Mary to be the tabernacle of His Son with her Immaculate Conception as was Jesus immaculately conceived.

And in what demented reality does that make sense?

Surely Christ, A JEW, would think this was nutty. I can just imagine a little scene now...

"Um, sorry but you two can't break bread with me, the Jesus, as husband and wife because you're not Catholics, oops, I mean Jews. Wait a minute, can someone tell me what religion I am? By the way, what are Catholics?" "They're going to be the dominant Christian religion in about 300 years." Christ, "Are they Jews?" "NO." "Well why would I have a problem with them getting married?" "You just do." Christ, "OK."

If "I" did anything, I would plead for him to renounce his sins and be the MAN God intends for him to be. As it is with Kerry it would be better if he put an albatross around his neck and threw himself in the ocean.

A man he is not. Power grabbin' giggiloo!!!

Joseph's father (the grandfather of Jesus). Matthew says Joseph's father was Jacob; Luke (3:23) says his name was Heli.

How could the bible get it so clearly wrong?

Doesn't god know what a star is?

quote:
"The star ... went before them."
If the star "went before them," leading them to Bethlehem, then it couldn't have been a star or any other astronomical object or event. But Matthew couldn't have known that. Everyone at the time thought that stars were just little points of light a short distance above the earth. It'd be no problem to have one hover above a particular place for a while.

Why didn't they get their stories straight?

Why didn't god get the stories straight? Didn't he know what these two communities were saying?

quote:
Into Egypt"
Matthew tells us that Joseph, Mary, and the baby Jesus left for Egypt soon after Jesus' birth, yet Luke (2:39) says they went directly to Nazareth.

Once again, why didn't god help them get their stories straight. Certainly, if it happened one way, they should have been able to get it right?

quote:
"This is my beloved son"
In Matthew's gospel, God addresses those witnessing Jesus' baptism saying, "This is my beloved son ...." But Mark (1:11) and Luke (3:22) have God speak to Jesus directly" "Thou art my beloved son ...." But whatever the exact wording, it seems strange that after witnessing this event, John the Baptist is still unsure about Jesus (see Mt.11:2-3).

How old are you children, AJ? If you are not likewise outraged about this porn in the classroom than you are going to one day be very sorry for your lack of parenting - for your lack of protecting your kids.

If you will not defend your children than who will, AJ. This very day, find out what your children are learning in the class room. Ask them. Visit the classes when in session UNannounced. Talk to school boards members. Get in gear and get informed!

Paul was thrown OUT of the Jerusalem Church because of heretical teachings related to the Eucharist. The church was Jewish and the eucharist which came from Mithraism was considered canabalistic according to Jewish laws and strictly forbidden. But in a pagan world where the Eucharist was celebrated commemorating Mithra, that was an easy thing to introduce. Gentiles didn't know anything about Hebrew laws and they found Paul's message very easy to accept.

Mithra was born of a virgin mother on December 25th; he had 12 disciples; he was killed and rose from the dead after 3 days and then ascended to heaven. Mithraism was the prevailing religion in the region at that time.

Unless you learn to read the message of Jesus with Jewish eyes and learn what the laws were of that time, you have no clue what Christianity IS.

In Europe only civil ceremonies are legal and binding. Having a church sanction that marriage is a choice people have.

The teachings of your church are faulty.

That's illegal. If you actually had kids, you would know that you go through the school office first.

I don't think you really have any idea what kids are actually being taught in school. Instead, you just imagine the most outrageous possibilities and imagine those to be real.

If you actually visited a school, you would see what a great place they are to be these days. The REAL dangers that kids face are not from teachers or the curriculum but from fellow students.

GGod, please tell me what Jesus' Grandfather's name was. Was it Heli or was it Jacob. You would think that god could get this one right?

Remember us having that little discussion about how I should read the whole bible? You said it as though, if I just suspended my opinions until the Christian Scriptures CS, "ALL WOULD BE REVEALED."

As yet, I can't say it's all that clear given the fact that God couldn't get the stories straight.

Remember, if there's a period out of place, it ALL is in doubt. If your bible is in doubt, YOU and your position, which we know to be based completely in your childish mythological religion, are in doubt.

And now, suddenly, you're avoiding this thread only to pop up in every other thread on this message board but this one.

Why is it GGod? Why are you suddenly avoiding the issues here? Too uncomfortable? Perhaps you feel that you can "get away with vomiting your crap" where they don't know you?
