'Boston Legal' had an interesting show in which a woman had stolen the paintif's sperm and was being sued by the man who wanted her to have an abortion. I was struck by this show in that it addressed (albeit in a strange way) that lack of inclusion of men in the abortion dialog. Will we ever address the fact that any conception or abortion is the responsibility of both people? Wouldnt' the abortion debate be completely turned around if men were held accountable for pregnacy? As Gloria Steinem said 'If men could get pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament'. That was decades ago and only Boston Legal could barely address the issue. We need to grow up.

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.
