I was watching C-Span last night listening to the presidential candidates giving their speeches. does anyone honestly believe any of the BS coming out of their mouths? We all know the Republican candidates are corporate toadies and shills for the globalist elite, except for Ron Paul. But what about the Democratic Party's major or first tier candidates for President? Are they any better? I know the Democrats for decades have at least given "lip service" to helping the common man and eschewing corporate money and influence. But do they?

You have Hillary (war monger) Clinton who not only enthusiastically voted for the war in Iraq but was on board for the Kyle/Lieberman amendment that would have given the warmongers in the White House carte blanche in attacking Iran. It makes sense for her since she has gotten so much money from the Military Industrial Complex corporations. And then there's John Edwards, 500 dollar haircuts aside, would you vote for a million-aire ambulance-chaser who made his living bankrupting doctors and hospitals using "junk science" to blame the health-care givers for causing cerebral palsy in newborns? I'll give you a quote and the link to the article.

Yet as my Manhattan Institute colleague Walter Olson has documented in the Wall Street Journal and on his website overlawyered.com, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, in a comprehensive study released last year, determined that delivery problems were not to blame for cerebral palsy in the "vast majority" of cases. Cerebral palsy is instead typically caused by factors beyond the doctor's control, such as maternal thyroid problems, genetic abnormalities, or prenatal infection. The ACOG report was peer reviewed and endorsed by, among others, the Centers for Disease Control and the United Cerebral Palsy Research and Education Foundation.

And then there's Barack Obama. A man from possibly the most corrupt state in the union and from a city, Chicago, that's been primarily run by Irish gangsters for over a hundred years. Hell, the current mayor Daly, between gun confiscation, remote controlled cameras and other procrustean measures is turning Chicago into his own little kingdom. Does this make Obama a crook? No, but you can get some kind of idea where he stands by the kinds of contributions he gets. Here's a partial list of some of the major corporate contributors.

There’s no question that industry loves Barack. As of March 31, UBS, the second largest bank in Europe, has given over $165,000 to his campaign. The Exelon corporation, which is the nation’s largest nuclear plant operator, has donated almost $160,000. The investment Goliath, Goldman Sachs, has also fattened the pockets of Barack Inc. with over $143,000. Citigroup has given well over $50,000 with Morgan Stanley close behind at $40,000. Wall Street has Obama’s back.

Here's the link where I got the information.

Citigroup, Morgan Stanly, Exelon: these corporations aren't giving Barack all this big money because they think he's cute. They are going to come calling for favors if and when he gets elected. What's the bottom line of this? I hope this isn't too trite of an article I'm writing? All that glitters is not gold. It's easy to be taken in by a slick-talking shister lawyer like John Edwards, or a photogenic young Afro-Euro Senator who talks a good game about populism. Most people want to believe the best about someone, often to the detriment of their own interests. And forget Hilary Clinton, how anyone could fall under this "ice-queen's" spell is beyond me. She reminds me of one of my favorite hard-rock groups from the seventies, Uriah Heep. The title song "Spider Woman" fits her quite nicely. It only took me a few minutes to turn over the rocks that these slimy politicians live under. The bottom line is if you want to live in "La-La Land" that's your prerogative. I'm just a paleo-conservative doing my duty trying to inform you poor misguided liberals about the false image you might have of some of the candidates running for President.

The Democratic and Republican wings of the Corporate Party should do very well in the upcoming elections.

Good to hear from you again polycarp. I don't mean to sound to negative or depressing but this is the way I see the lions share of the candidates in both parties. I make no secret in supporting Ron Paul. I admire Dennis Kucinich for taking a principled and consistent stand against this insane war in Iraq. And I also like the fact that he wants to reopen the 9/11 investigation (plus he has a hot wife) , but I have to take exception to his big-government policies.
